Intern - Partnership assessment

MRG has recently designed a new partnership assessment and management tool which will also support partner capacity building. We now want to recruit an intern to support staff to research and upload records from and about our global network of 150 partner organisations. Tasks will involve transferring some data from an existing database to the new tool (which will consist of an excel file for each partner), checking that data transferred is up to date as well as contacting partners to request particular documents or pieces of information. Tasks may also involve interviewing staff about their records and experience of working with a particular partner organisation and summarising their responses onto the central record sheets.
The intern may also work on some other aspects of evaluation, organisational learning and/or knowledge management if interested and as time permits.
This is most likely to be a part time internship - 2 or 3 days per week although we would also consider people who wanted to work full time. We envisage that it might take 3 months to complete the work i.e. from mid July to early mid-October.
Interns should have:
  • Good Excel skills (work with formulae or complex functions is not required)
  • Methodical and organised approach, ability to track progress, be aware of all gaps and work towards 100% completion of all records by the end of the internship
  • Initiative and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and persuasive skills
  • Ability to persist with a task despite some difficulties
  • Patience and understanding of the workload of the staff members who need to supply information
  • A working knowledge of French and/or Spanish would be an advantageInterns will be eligible to claim up to £8 in travel expenses and up to £6 in lunch expenses for each full day worked.
