Communications and Membership Officer

We are currently looking for a dynamic, motivated and skilled individual in the position of Communications and Membership Officer.

The Job

You will be responsible for supporting the communications and membership elements of our Brussels based secretariat. A full job description and skills specification can be found on our website. 

Communications work will include but not be limited to managing our website, developing publications, and implementing our media strategy. Communications with members will be an additional key area of work including our regular member communication tools. 

You will be a key contact person for membership of the network. You will support our members’ engagement in the network by organizing membership visits to Brussels and organizing our annual member event and annual general meeting as well as working to expand the membership of the network.

You will also work with the Secretary General and other staff in developing our evaluation processes to ensure we have both impact and relevancy in our work internally and externally.

We expect

  • An ability to appreciate and relate to the Eurodiaconia mission, vision and principles;
  • Relevant experience in communications in an NGO both on a strategic and operational level;
  • Experience and knowledge of membership issues such as engagement, partnership and capacity;
  • Experience and knowledge of the European Union;
  • An enthusiasm for membership engagement and providing membership events that provide added value for members of the network;
  • Motivation for evaluation led strategies;
  • High IT literacy including how to engage social media for the benefit of Eurodiaconia;
  • Ability to work in English, French and/or Dutch, German would be an advantage;
  • Good information gathering experience and excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and excellent people skills;
  • An engaging and pro-active personality and the ability to multi task and manage your own working time.
