Vacancies in our International Development Team

ADD international is seeking two outstanding individuals to take its programme quality to a new level. Following an internal review, these new posts, reporting direct to the International Director, will play a crucial role in working with our teams based in developing countries across Africa and Asia to support their effectiveness.
About ADD International
ADD International is a UK based NGO. Together, we promote the work of rights-based disability organisations run by disabled people in some of the poorest countries of Africa and Asia. Most of our staff is based in overseas programmes, supported by the UK office of ADD International.
Together, we’re bringing lasting social and policy change to promote disabled people’s rights and alleviate their social exclusion and poverty. However, whilst acting as a support to the disability movement, ADD is as a UK-based organisation, and therefore we cannot be part of the movement. ADD is continuously dealing with the subtleties of this position.
Vacancy 1: Learning and Accountability Advisor
The learning and accountability advisor will be the overall lead for ADD on how we understand the impact of our work and how we learn from what we do.
Comfortable with both facilitating learning at grassroots level, but also representing the organisation’s thinking to high level external audiences including governmental donors, the post-holder will need to:
  • Have extensive experience of successfully designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems with national teams working with grassroots partners in developing countries, as well as demonstrating thought leadership in this area to other development actors.
  • Be someone familiar with M&E tools but who regards them as a means, but not an end in themselves.

Vacancy 2: Programme Quality Advisor
The programme quality advisor will be skilled at building the capacity of national country teams in a wide range of areas.
A practitioner themselves they are likely to have run development programmes in at least 2 countries, will have worked with low-capacity grassroots partners working with highly marginalised groups. Skilled at truly coaching for performance the person will be at their best when accompanying others and will rarely, if ever, tell people what to do.

Both posts require extensive, unaccompanied travel.

DISABLED CANDIDATES ARE PARTICULARLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.
