The Faculty of Law invites applications for appointment as Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor. Expressions of interest from scholars in all fields of law are welcome, but applicants with interests in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply:  
Energy Law; Natural Resources Law; Environmental Law; Law of the PRC (both private and public); Comparative Law; Banking and Finance.
These appointments will support planned new developments in the Faculty as well as existing research strengths and teaching programmes.
Applicants interested in appointment at Professor or Associate Professor should note that The Chinese University of Hong Kong has established a Strategic Recruitment Fund to attract outstanding scholars to the University. All professoriate appointees are expected to contribute to research, teaching and service.  Applicants for appointment as Professor should have a demonstrated record of leadership in all three areas. Applicants for appointment as Associate Professor should be able to demonstrate potential for leadership in all three areas.  
The Faculty has a record of high-quality teaching. Applicants at all levels will be expected to demonstrate their capacity as teachers as part of the recruitment process.  
Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.

Salary and Fringe Benefits
Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care, a contract-end gratuity for appointments of two years or longer, and housing benefits for eligible appointees. Annual salary ranges for Professorship: from HK$1,095,480 to HK$1,439,580 or above; for Associate Professorship: from HK$867,300 to HK$1,106,100; for Assistant Professorship: from HK$675,960 to HK$867,300 [approximate exchange rate in March 2014 for reference: US$1 = HK$7.8; GBP1 = HK$12.8; AU$1 = HK$7.1].
