Oikocredit is a cooperative financial organization that finances and invests in microfinance institutions, cooperatives and small to medium enterprises in low-income countries. All over the world we provide entrepreneurs, small businesses, agricultural cooperatives and other productive enterprises with the capital they need to expand their businesses and create opportunities to improve livelihoods.
Our organization manages one of the world's largest sources of private capital for microfinance. The financial resources come from investments from individuals, institutions and churches. On an annual basis, a modest dividend is paid to shareholders.

Sub-regional manager

Responsibilities
As the sub-regional manager you will manage the strategy and overall growth of the area's portfolio as well as develop and/or explore new market opportunities, investment strategies and policies for the region. The position will also require you to promote social performance in the region and participate in regional credit committee meetings. You will also be required to build and maintain business and development networks. You will also be responsible for managing area staff, including recruitment, performance evaluations and the day-to-day management of your team. As the sub-regional manager, you can either be based in Amersfoort or in one of the regional country offices in Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Slovakia, Romania, Russia or the Ukraine. You must be willing to travel frequently.
Education and experience
Oikocredit is looking for someone who holds a Master's degree in economics, business management, social sciences, development studies, or agribusiness. A minimum of seven years' experience in a similar position is required. Fluency in English (spoken and written) and Russian (spoken and written) is essential to be considered for this position. The right candidate must have proven analytical skills, understanding of macroeconomic environments and financial markets.
