SIP Systems Process Owner - Finance

We are currently recruiting for two  System Process Owners who will ideally have a SAP finance and/ or procurement background along with experience in implementing a global project. This position is based in Woking, Surrey at Plan’s International Head-quarters.

The Systems Integration Project (SIP) will implement the Plan SAP solution across 50 developing countries. Providing Plan with a single integrated solution to support its finance, grants, purchasing and programme business processes. The purpose of this role is to ensure that SAP is used in all countries in a consistent way and ensure that expectations are set appropriately, for future system changes within the countries when the system is implemented. The System Process Owner is part of the Global Chief Information Officer’s department and the Systems Integration Project team. Directly, this role will have significant impact and influence on the global rollout and use of Plan’s new integrated SAP solution which will ultimately support 4,000 users worldwide. The capabilities provided by the implementation of SAP underpin several of the key objectives in Plan’s current strategic plan.

You will be a champion of SAP functional modules and build advocates of the system and maximise business use of SAP functionality. Provide expert advice to the business on the use of Plan’s SAP solution and SAPs reporting tools.Obtain adequate understanding of other SAP modules to be able to resolve basic cross module issues.  You will be able to effectively communicate and explain the system solution adapting approach as appropriate for the audience. Support Systems Process Owner Lead and Project Manager in producing communications regarding status of project and distribute to the key stake holders including National Organisations and users.

You will own the resolution of SAP related business and functional problems to ensure the business can effectively use SAP and to enable the project to remain on target. Provide technical support to third party and Country Subject Matter Expertss where required including troubleshooting of highly complex Country SAP problems, identifying the root cause of the problem, providing fixes, and workarounds. Where required you will work collaboratively with the internal and external teams to ensure early resolution.Update procedures and processes to avoid similar problems arising again.Provide troubleshooting support for the third party integrating testing during the accelerated rollout. Prioritise and multi-task balancing rollout tasks with immediate operational and support tasks. Escalate Country issues, and 3rd party functional issues, that cannot be resolved with mitigating recommendations, to the Systems Process OwnerLead during rollout out. Carry out country data migration reconciliation with other team members and support country Subject Matter Experts to spot check their own country data before going live with SAP. Review, test and accept the reporting solution delivered by the third party integrator.

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:
  • Experience of working on major / global business system rollout project is essential.
  • Understanding of the typical support processes for global business solutions is essential.
  • Understanding of SAP Finance and Procurement modules is essential.
  • Understanding of SAP Grants and Projects modules is preferable.
  • Understanding of the business processes associated with finance and purchasing is essential.
  • Experience in Plan and/or working in an INGO environment is desirable.
  • Experience of system testing is desirable.
  • Able to work within a matrix management environment where there are multiple stakeholders and managers
