Senior Program Manager- Innovations, Mumbai

Travel: International up to 20 %    Domestic up to 60%

I. TECHNOSERVE BACKGROUND:

II. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

TechnoServe has been active in India since June 2006. The country program focuses on three thematic areas, namely development of value chains (specifically agricultural value chains); development of entrepreneurship (specifically socially relevant businesses) and innovative partnership models for enhancement of livelihood opportunities for the poor; and local economic development. It is an exciting period for the country program as we grow our Indian entity and look for expansion of our programs and coverage across the country.     

III. POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are looking to hire a Senior Program Manager - Innovations to manage a large program with a focus on transferring Agricultural Innovations from India to Africa (specifically Malawi, Kenya, and Liberia). Additionally, he/she would manage a portfolio of existing projects and support our new program development efforts in India. Should be flexible to travel extensively in India and to Africa

IV. PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s Degree in Business or International Development with relevant prior experience
  • At least 2-3 years with a leading management consulting firm, e.g. McKinsey, Bain, Booz, BCG and other similar firms
  • Overall 10 years+ of work experience
  • Exposure to innovations, operations, agriculture, and/or Africa preferable
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder partnerships that involve corporate, non-profits, governments, and multilateral agencies.
  • Ability to manage large projects with significant uncertainty in rural contexts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to undertake field research and synthesize data
  • Understanding of Indian economic development landscape is a plus.
