Sandvik inShanghai is seeking for a
Senior Application Engineer

The position would directly report to Assistant Application Manager, below please refer to the job description:
Key performance areas:
Application support
  • Develop Application Center Technology know – how and business in line with set objectives.
  • Investigate industry application Best Practices.
  • Identify, co – ordinate and process customer Projects or/and Processes.
  • Co-ordinate Application support from/to Head Office, other ASCs and other Markets.
  • Support Head Office Application Development Department with feedback from own application work and market.
  • Verify customer leads and assist/prepare offers/quotations. Contribute to the CGCR business development.
  • Work closely together with staff in machining centers, CNC – lathes and with CAM – programmers in Application Solutions on feature, component or process level.
  • Support Application Center Manager, Application Engineers, CAM – programmers in application solutions.
  • Master and perform ISO, and CAM – programming (midrange CAM – System) in customer projects, training or competence build up of ASC Team.
Training support
  • Arrange various levels of training in metal cutting applications for customers and own staff. Perform Advanced Application Training for CGCR and customer’s staff.
  • Other position related tasks requested by supervisor.
Your profile:
  • Bachelor degree with major in Mechanical Engineering or Technical College graduate with general industry specialization.
  • Long time, minimum 5 – 7 years, experience from metal cutting industry, Machine Tool Maker/Agent or Carbide Tooling Company is a must.
  • Good understanding of CAM-functionalities and programming skills in midrange CAM – systems. Deep understanding of application knowledge in advanced, modern machining strategies.
  • Sales oriented and service minded.
  • Good skills in written and oral English language.
  • Good documentation, communication and presentation skills.
As a person you are proactive, self-motivated and one with lot of initiative, courage and integrity and a business minded, result oriented attitude. You also have strong communication skills and can work in an English environment.
