Applications are invited for the position of Regional Learning & Development Knowledge Management Adviser based at the British Embassy in Brussels. 

The British Embassy is part of a world-wide network of 230 UK overseas missions, representing British security, prosperity and consular interests abroad. We are currently looking to recruit a self-motivated Regional KM Adviser who will have overall regional responsibility for KM activities in alignment with organisational priorities, and the operational success of the Regional Learning & Development Team (RLDT) for the European region.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Regional Head of Learning & Development for Europe also based in Brussels.

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Business Partner with Senior Management at British Embassies/Consulates (Posts) across the Europe region, the GLDT and the Knowledge & Technology Department (KTD) to achieve business performance goals and successfully implement KM initiatives;
  • Support the effective use of technology to support the Knowledge Excellence strategy through:
    • Encouraging robust IT Learning Needs Analyses to support the Knowledge Excellence strategy;
    • Supporting Posts in establishing and improving KM plans and systems to effectively use technology and organisational knowledge to improve business performance;
    • Supporting Posts in evaluating KM/IT interventions for return on investment;
    • Providing Posts with KM consultancy support and advice. 
  • Deliver formal training or other informal IT interventions that meet the specific needs of staff from all Government Departments in their regions e.g. SharePoint 2013, I records, Project Management tools, Microsoft Office tools;
  • Deliver ‘soft skills’ CSL and RLDT products to support RLDT account managers as appropriate;
  • Overall accountability on local/regional/global projects to ensure quality and timely delivery, on-track budget spend, and accurate monthly financial reporting;
  • Active participation in knowledge and best practice sharing across the Regional L&D network.

Qualifications/Experience/Competencies required:

  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent evidence of vocational learning;
  • At least 5 years of experience in digital/IT/KM delivery;
  • At least 3 years of account management/business partnering experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of learning and development processes including learning needs assessment, learning evaluation and learning design;
  • Experience in managing and servicing client accounts within a corporate environment, are preferred;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and fluency in English, both verbal and written, with excellent communications skills;
  • Solid experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders, organisations and cultures with sensitivity and effectiveness;

The role requires substantial regional travel in Europe and occasional travel outside the region. 

This position will be filled on a fixed term contract. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Belgium. 

Taxable gross monthly salary: €3444.87 with the potential for an additional responsibility allowance.
