Quality Engineer
Sandvik Hyperion has been created within Sandvik Venture to be the home of a world-class hard and super-hard materials company.
Sandvik Hyperion is looking for an entrepreneurial Quality Engineer to support the development and implementation of key Account Management (KAM) for the merged companies Sandvik Hard Materials and Diamond Innovations.
Key performance areas
  • Participate and assist with internal and customer audits as required
  • Assist in facilitation of CAR’s as necessary to assure timely root cause correction, verification of effectiveness and closure
  • Use Everest system for the evaluation of non-conformances
  • Implementing stability systems linked to improve scrap and reprocessing metrics by controlling key process variables.
  • The development and maintenance of Quality Assurance standard procedures that meet customer specifications
  • Monitoring and assisting suppliers to assure compliance to specifications
  • Implementing and maintaining quality assurance systems, procedures, and equipment to meet customer and Sandvik Hyperion requirements
  • Conduct training and development programs to support product and process quality, productivity, continuous improvement and safety performance
  • Coordination and implementation of Quality Planning and new product launch activities
  • Customer interface activities related to quality and final product requirements
  • Monitoring and tracking process & product control parameters as a means to validate process reliability & capability
Your profile
  • BS in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing / quality environment
  • Strong knowledge and use of MS Office applications, integrated MRP database applications, and experience with Minitab also desired
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 18001
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor preferred
  • Six sigma green / black belt certified and/or Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Quality systems auditing experience; preferably as a lead auditor
  • Experience in MRB, design reviews, supplier audits, corrective action programs
  • Thorough understanding of QA standards, implementation and auditing
  • Thorough understanding of statistical techniques and analyses
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in driving improvement initiatives, ability to integrate and work well in a team environment
