We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Project Manager in the Global Conservation Agriculture Program to manage the Take It to the Farmer component of the MasAgro project, as well as aligned projects in the frame of the Sustainable Intensification in Latin America Strategy.

The position will be based at CIMMYT's Main Campus (located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico).
Specific tasks and responsibilities of this position will include:
Perform all Project Management related to the Take It To The Farmer component and related projects in the frame of the Sustainable Intensification in Latin America Strategy, including all specific activities related to project planning and design, execution, monitoring/controlling and closing of projects as required.
Knowledge capture and lessons learned and contract closure.
Monitor and Evaluate human and financial aspects of performance.
Monitor and report on utilization of budget and commitments accurately and in a timely manner to facilitate informed decision making. This includes: ensure appropriate project budget upload and revision, based on work plan; extract project budget on a monthly basis and provide feedback to project leader; review transactions and detect problems, and obtain Project Leader's review and endorsement for capital purchases.
Monitor and evaluate contributions by team members to facilitate performance management and appraisals.
Ensure effective deployment of staff and other resources, including requesting staff time allocation from Program Director.
Set and achieve measurable goals and performance indicators for all staff.
Review reports prepared by accounting and reconcile.
Execute subcontracts ensuring full compliance to established policy and process.
Ensure institutional integration through Program Director and Knowledge Manager.
Contribute to staff evaluations.
Oversee the procurement and management of assets, inventory and other resources
We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:
Essential:
  • Master's Degree in Project Management, Business Management or similar field.
  • Bachelor in Business Administration, Finance or Public Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in project management and budget management.
  • Proficiency in English, with excellent written / oral communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • High level of cultural sensitivity to understand the needs of all staff and partners.
  • High level of responsibility and discretion and ability work under pressure.
  • Effective team leadership, conflict and change management skills.
  • Advanced level of standard software (Microsoft Office, MS Project) and financial systems.
  • Strong level of customer orientation and flexibility, with a high level of attention to details.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure and as a member of diverse work team.
Desirable:
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience of managing large program or project budgets, preferably in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience in proposal development.
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in a corporate & non-profit environment.
  • 5 years of practical experience in financial management.
