Project Director – Opportunities for Economic Development Project - Myanmar

 In response to the conflict that has occurred in Myanmar, CARE proposed a project to USAID that employs a holistic approach to conflict mitigation which has been implemented in Northern Rakhine State since October 2013. The overall objective of this project known as Opportunities for Economic Development (OFED) is to strengthen communities and leaders and to prevent violence. The Project Director ensures the effective planning and implementation of the OFED project by CARE and its community partners. This role also ensures that lessons learned from the project are effectively communicated to a wide range of stakeholders.
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Project Director who has experience in large scale project management in conflict and post conflict settings, including an understanding of conflict analysis transformation and sensitivity principles and practices.
To perform effectively in this role you will possess strong communication and influencing skills as well as capacity building skills and experience in delivering training. Strong leadership skills, judgement, commitment to gender equality and ability to develop strong mutually beneficial relationships will be highly regarded.
