The new Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) in Moscow seeks faculty candidates to build a new academic group focused around technological entrepreneurship and innovation. Multiple tenure-track and tenured faculty positions are available to begin late 2014 or thereafter.

Established in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Skoltech integrates strong foundational graduate educational programs and cutting-edge basic and applied research with an ecology of innovation and entrepreneurship to establish a new model for advancing knowledge, developing technology, and creating economic value to improve the Russian Federation and our world. 

You will join a new institution of world-class scientists and technologists.

You will be part of building a new academic organization, while designing, developing and teaching new curricula, aimed at global science and technology, to graduate students drawn from Russia and the world. These unique students are motivated to understand better how to execute commercialization of their own and others’ research.

You will carry out your own related disciplinary research, as well as have opportunities to collaborate with other academic leaders.

Job Qualifications

You have a Ph.D. in a disciplinary area that relates to organizing and managing technological entrepreneurship & innovation. A specific focus on product design and development would be highly valued. The unique candidate with a doctorate in engineering or the physical or life sciences would be of special interest if she/he has already shown an ability to conduct scholarly research and teaching in managerial or organizational aspects of emerging science-and technology-related companies. An applicant with prior experience in starting or helping to grow young technology-related enterprises would be of special interest.

You show evidence of strong research capability.

You are able to merge fundamental theoretical knowledge with practical relevance, and are able to build and maintain sustainable relationships with practitioners. As all classes at Skoltech will be carried out in English, you must have strong capability to teach and converse in English.
