We are looking for an IT-Specialist, Servers & Storage based in our Montreal office, to support ongoing operations and maintenance of server and storage solutions across Rio Tinto, including subject matter expertise, according to defined SLAs.

  • Supporting the delivery of the ongoing operations and maintenance of server and storage solutions across Rio Tinto
  • Reporting on relevant vendor performance and processes
  • Supporting the development, communication and maintenance of relevant standards for all enterprise units with plan
  • Supporting operational direction to manage all aspects of scope
  • Supervising tactical support that ensures system health with current maintenance
  • Developing and fostering a culture of safety, collaboration and inclusiveness
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this challenging and impactful role, you will have:
  • Relevant graduate qualification in Operating Systems Servers
  • 3-5 years of experience in servers and operations
  • Successful track record in supporting the management of a server and storage facility servicing multiple countries and business units
  • Experience in monitoring customer service levels, external suppliers including outsource providers
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and business application
  • Knowledge of change and release practices for infrastructure delivery and support and implementing continuous improvement methodologies
 
Demonstrated exposure in working with a large organisation that is internationally dispersed is essential.  Previous work experience gained in heavy industry or the mining field would be advantageous but not essential.
