Group Product Manager, Costa Rica

WestLac is a Diageo region which contains 5 business units:  Jamaica, Border/FTZ, SouthLac, Venture Markets, and Key Markets.  Key Markets includes 6 countries: Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago. These 6 countries account for nearly 16% of WestLac’s CAAP.
Within Key markets, Costa Rica is the second largest market accounting for 23% of Key Market’s CAAP (after DR which accounts for 32%). 
The brands have enviable market position in most cases but there are some clear opportunities especially with the Non Scotch portfolio. The scotch business is primarily constituted of Standard and Deluxe brands.
Key Markets is a complex multicultural, multilingual, multi-customer, multi-channel multi-currency environment. In most markets the business is run primarily through 3rd party distributors with different capabilities. In Costa Rica the marketing function is handled by the local IMC. 
Purpose of Role:
The Group Product Manager role is to manage the full portfolio of Diageo brands with regards to all aspects of marketing, utilizing the strong portfolio cleverly to widen the gap vs the competition. The role includes direct accountability and handling of Johnnie Walker and a supervisory role over a team of brand managers for the rest of the portfolio.
 
Key Outputs:
Deliver excellent GAME plans with the appropriate rigor with right issues identified for each brand.
Own brand performance and ensure measurement and tracking of critical business indicators.
Ensure strong execution and Tracking of GAME plans in collaboration with 3rd Party Commercial team. Recommend A&P adjustments as needed and ensure strong M&E of all programs.
Build strong relationships with trade marketing teams in the Distributors. by providing coaching to improve their capabilities. 
Develop a strong talent pipeline within the marketing team, to prepare them for future roles within the organization by coaching them on their career development plans. 
 
Qualifications and Experience Required:
College graduate, MBA preferred with a minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience that should include:
Proven track record of people management. Marketing management experience with a major CPG company and/or three-tier Distribution experience with strong commercial understanding.
Proven track record in brand management, with experience in brand building positions.
Strong understanding of trade dynamics within the market.
Must be highly skilled in planning processes, excellent organizational skills and result oriented.
Languages required:  Fluent Spanish and fluent English
