With a joint portfolio producing over 100 kboe/ day, our goal is to continue building a truly excellent Exploration and Production business in Europe E&P.

Position Summary

The wells decommissioning engineer will be the focal point in Europe E&P for all well plugging and abandonment planning, technically and commercially. Decommissioning of existing fields is an activity which in BG Europe E&P will become central in the coming decade and planning for these activities will start now in order to be in the best possible position to deliver when fields reach their cessation of production date.

Key Accountabilities

Europe E&P currently (end 2013) has a total of 227 wells in the portfolio of which 66 are operated. Some of the fields are already shut-in, some approach their cessation of production date and plans needs to be put in place for final abandonment of all these wells. Technical solutions are different from field to field and also within fields and the technical preparations are significant to understand the scope for the full decommissioning program.
