The European Biodiesel Board, also known as EBB, is a non-profit organisation established in January 1997. EBB promotes the use of biodiesel in the European Union. EBB groups the major biodiesel producers in Europe, located in 23 Member States.

We are currently looking for a dynamic and motivated Communication and Press Manager for our Brussel’s office.

Requirements

  • University degree either in communication, journalism, public relations, law, politics or equivalent (freelance journalism in Brussels is a plus);
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an equivalent position;
  • Excellent English and very good French are required; other EU languages are an asset;
  • Proven record in writing press material, briefings etc.;
  • Good knowledge of EU decision-making processes and actors is required;
  • Prior experience in the field of energy, transport and/or environment is considered a plus but not necessary;
  • Genuine interest in environmental issues, climate change and energy;
  • Ability to rapidly summarize complex issues.

Tasks

Assist the Secretary General and the Project Managers in:
  • Elaborating and implementing a press and image strategy for the association, members companies and biofuels sector;
  • Handling media and press contacts;
  • Monitoring EU and national media coverage of biofuels and energy issues;
  • Drafting press releases, article for publication and all communication material;
  • Organising press conferences;
  • Participating in conferences and public events;
  • It is possible (if not even suitable) a collaboration based on part-time or on a consultancy frame. It can also be a full-time contract depending on profile.
