Cellar Intern, Beaulieu Vineyard

Key Outputs:    
· Leads by example & always follows safe cellar practices
· Works as a team player & follows protocol
· Winery & cellar sanitation (All types)
· Helps with organization of winery cellars
· Leads barrel room maintenance & inventory
· Understands & performs all wine movements/activities/additions
· Including bottling line sanitation
· Including scale house duties
· Including confined space entry procedures
· SO² doser applications
· Forklift operator (Barrels/Cased Goods)
· Lead & supervise teams (Topping/Racking/Harvest)
· Understands winemaking principles & objectives
· Fills out work orders, receiving reports & cellar documents
· Proactive response to production & safety concerns
· Repair of minor barrel & cooperage issues
· Maintain all of the cellar valves, gaskets and hoses in good working order
· Follows instructions on work orders and completes the task right the first time
· Accurately records tank measurements, additions and work completed on work order for wine tracking.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
· Must be able to lift & carry up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis
· Can work standing up & walk on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time
· Requires repetitive squatting & strenuous pulling/pushing of hoses, equipment & pumps
· Must be able to work any shift & overtime as needed, especially during the harvest season.
· Can withstand extreme cellar temperature conditions (outside & inside)
· Reliable team player with good work ethic
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to follow verbal & written instructions, as well as use mathematical skills daily
· Able to read/write Spanish, a plus
· Minimum of 3-5 years previous winery experience with similar leadership or team leading roles
· Complete winery equipment & winery SOP knowledge
· Valid CA driver’s license and must be 21
