Associate Director - General of Investment Promotion

Housing Allowances: HK$34,030 per month, subject to the meeting of the eligibility criteria as stipulated in the regulations relating to the provision of such benefits.
Gratuity:  An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract.  The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum, which, when added together with the contribution made by the Government to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
Duties:  Reporting directly to the Director-General of Investment Promotion, the Associate Director-General is required to contribute to Invest Hong Kong by leading a Division of dedicated investment promotion staff locally and overseas to (a) develop and execute investment promotion strategies and business plans for a number of targeted sectors* and overseas markets; (b) lead and co-ordinate aftercare programmes to encourage and help existing investors to expand and upgrade their presence in Hong Kong; (c) act as an advocate to improve Hong Kong’s competitiveness and attractiveness as business location; and (d) develop an effective network of contacts with partner organisations. (Note: The post requires extensive international travel.)
Entry Requirements:  (a) A minimum of fifteen years of relevant work experience in marketing, corporate account relationship management, business development/consultancy or investment and trade promotion, including at least three years at a senior management level in a multi-national environment; (b) Knowledge of and experience in direct investment promotion or economic development; (c) A bachelor’s degree, and preferably a higher degree, in a sector-specific subject*, business administration, economics, or international marketing from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; (d) A very good understanding of Hong Kong’s business environment.  Knowledge of the Mainland market would be an asset; (e) Solid commercial experience in handling multi-national corporate clients at senior executive level; (f) Good communication and presentation skills; and (g) A strong command of English.  Proficiency in Chinese is preferable.
